Congratulations to the City of Andalusia and the Andalusia City Schools for being awarded the 21st CCLC Grant which will fund an after-school program for ACS students grade K-8 and summer programming for kids throughout Covington County. The City of Andalusia will be expanding its recreational and leisure activities past the realm of just sports to offer the children of this community a broader array of activities. Summer activities will be available for all children throughout Covington County! Mayor Earl Johnson and Superintendent Ted Watson have formed a partnership to provide the very best program for the youth of Andalusia and are very excited about the possibilities of this opportunity. It has been a passion of Mayor Johnson to tap into the rich resources that are available here in our community, and these programs will rely heavily on the help of the talented volunteers in Covington County.
The A.P.P.L.E. after-school program will begin August 7, 2017, from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Woodson Learning Center (old AMS building). Dates of operation will follow the ACS calendar. Transportation to the site from AES and AJHS will be provided.
